MEDICAL OZONE THERAPY
A Controlled Signal for Cellular Resilience, Circulation and Recovery.
The human body is designed to adapt.
Exercise challenges the muscles and makes them stronger. Fasting briefly changes metabolic signalling. Heat exposure activates protective cellular pathways. In a similar way, medical ozone therapy uses a carefully measured oxidative stimulus to encourage the body’s own adaptive and protective responses.
This principle is known as hormesis—a controlled biological challenge that may activate internal systems involved in antioxidant protection, circulation, inflammation regulation and cellular repair.
At Kiiran Patel Wellness Cube, ozone therapy is never treated as a one-size-fits-all solution. Every protocol is personalised according to the individual’s health history, laboratory findings, current medicines, symptoms and wellness goals.

What Is Medical Ozone?
The oxygen we breathe normally exists as O₂—two oxygen atoms joined together. Ozone is O₃, which means it contains three oxygen atoms.
This additional oxygen atom makes ozone highly reactive. Medical ozone is therefore generated from medical-grade oxygen in a precise concentration and used immediately through a controlled clinical procedure.
Medical ozone is administered only through specific clinical protocols. It is not delivered through inhalation.

How Does Ozone Therapy Work?
Ozone therapy is sometimes described as a way of “adding oxygen” to the body, but its proposed biological action is more complex.
During a blood-based ozone procedure, ozone reacts rapidly with components of the blood. It does not remain in the circulation as ozone gas. Instead, the reaction creates short-lived signalling molecules that may communicate with antioxidant, circulatory, immune and metabolic pathways.
signalling molecules that may communicate with antioxidant, circulatory, immune and metabolic pathways.
In simple words:
Ozone provides the signal. The body creates the response.
The objective is not to create excessive oxidation. It is to deliver a carefully measured stimulus that the body may respond to by strengthening its own protective systems.
Activating the Body’s Antioxidant Defence
Oxidative stress develops when the production of reactive molecules exceeds the body’s ability to manage them. Persistent oxidative stress can affect cellular energy, inflammation, blood vessels, immunity and healthy ageing.
The body has its own protective antioxidant enzymes, including:
✓ Superoxide dismutase.
✓ Catalase.
✓ Glutathione peroxidase.
✓ Glutathione-related defence systems.
A controlled ozone stimulus may activate cellular pathways involved in antioxidant protection, including the Nrf2 pathway. This pathway helps regulate the production of protective enzymes and supports the cell’s ability to respond to oxidative challenges.
This creates an important paradox: a small, controlled oxidative signal may encourage the body to improve its antioxidant capacity.
The dose matters. More ozone does not mean better results. The concentration, route, frequency and individual’s biological capacity must all be considered.
Ozone and Mitochondrial Function
When mitochondrial efficiency declines, a person may experience:
✓ Persistent fatigue.
✓ Reduced stamina.
✓ Brain fog.
✓ Poor exercise recovery.
✓ Slower healing.
✓ Metabolic dysfunction.
✓ Difficulty recovering from prolonged stress or illness.
Medical ozone is being studied for its potential influence on redox signalling, oxygen utilisation and mitochondrial adaptation.
Rather than directly “charging” the mitochondria, ozone may provide a signal that encourages cells to strengthen the systems responsible for energy production, protection and repair.
For meaningful mitochondrial improvement, ozone therapy is best integrated with appropriate nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, hormonal balance and correction of nutrient deficiencies.
Ozone, Circulation and Oxygen Utilisation
It also depends on:
✓ Healthy red blood cells.
✓ Adequate haemoglobin.
✓ Efficient circulation.
✓ Microvascular blood flow.
✓ Vascular health.
✓ The release of oxygen into tissues.
✓ The ability of mitochondria to use that oxygen.
Medical ozone is being explored for its possible effects on red-blood-cell behaviour, circulation and tissue oxygen utilisation.
This does not replace the investigation or treatment of anaemia, heart disease, vascular disease, lung conditions or other medical causes of reduced oxygen delivery.
Ozone and Inflammatory Balance
Persistent low-grade inflammation may be associated with:
✓ Insulin resistance.
✓ Abdominal fat.
✓ Poor gut health.
✓ Autoimmune activity.
✓ Cardiovascular risk.
✓ Chronic discomfort.
✓ Fatigue.
✓ Accelerated biological ageing.
Ozone therapy does not simply “remove inflammation.” Its proposed role is to support the body’s regulation of oxidative and inflammatory signalling.
A complete wellness programme must still identify what is driving the inflammation. The underlying cause may be metabolic dysfunction, gut-barrier disturbance, nutrient deficiencies, infection, hormonal imbalance, sleep deprivation or chronic stress.
Ozone may support the body’s response, but correcting the underlying biological environment remains essential.
Ozone and Immune Regulation
An under-responsive immune system may provide inadequate protection, while an overactive or poorly regulated immune response may contribute to allergies, chronic inflammation or autoimmune activity.
Medical ozone is better understood as a potential immune-modulating intervention rather than simply an “immune booster.”
In autoimmune conditions, stronger immune activity is not automatically beneficial. Any ozone protocol must therefore be personalised and coordinated with appropriate medical treatment.
Ozone and Metabolic Wellness
A person may have normal blood glucose while producing excessive insulin to maintain it. Over time, this can contribute to:
✓ Energy fluctuations.
✓ Food cravings.
✓ Abdominal weight gain.
✓ Fatty liver.
✓ Elevated triglycerides.
✓ Hormonal imbalance.
✓ Chronic inflammation.
✓ Increased cardiovascular risk.
Ozone therapy may be incorporated into a wider metabolic programme to support cellular resilience, circulation and inflammatory balance.
However, it cannot replace the foundations of metabolic health: balanced nutrition, adequate protein and fibre, muscle activity, quality sleep, stress regulation and correction of hormonal or nutritional imbalances.
Our Ozone Therapy Protocols
Major Autohemotherapy :
A measured quantity of blood is collected into a sterile, closed system. It is exposed to a prescribed oxygen–ozone mixture and then returned to the body.
Ozone reacts within the treatment system and creates biological signalling molecules. Ozone gas is not directly injected into the bloodstream.
UVBI With Ozone :
Ultraviolet blood irradiation may be combined with a carefully selected ozone protocol. A controlled quantity of blood is treated outside the body before being returned through a sterile system.
This may be considered within personalised immune, inflammatory, metabolic or recovery programmes.
Rectal Ozone Insufflation :
A measured oxygen–ozone mixture is gently introduced through the rectum. This needle-free approach may be considered in selected gut-focused and systemic wellness programmes.
Local Ozone Applications :
Local ozone protocols may be used for selected skin, wound or musculoskeletal concerns when clinically appropriate.
Who May Benefit From an Ozone Assessment?
Ozone therapy may be explored as part of an individual wellness programme for people experiencing:
✓ Persistent fatigue.
✓ Reduced energy and stamina.
✓ Slow recovery.
✓ Increased oxidative stress.
✓ Chronic inflammatory burden.
✓ Metabolic dysfunction.
✓ Circulatory concerns.
✓ Gut-related wellness issues.
✓ Musculoskeletal discomfort.
✓ Age-related decline in resilience.
These concerns can have many possible causes. A consultation and appropriate investigation are required before deciding whether ozone therapy is suitable.
Why Testing Matters
The same ozone dose will not produce the same response in every person.
An individual with adequate antioxidant reserves may respond differently from someone with severe anaemia, nutritional depletion, uncontrolled illness or reduced red-blood-cell protection.
Assessment may include:
✓ Complete blood count.
✓ Haemoglobin and red-blood-cell indices.
✓ G6PD status.
✓ Kidney and liver function.
✓ Blood glucose and insulin markers.
✓ Inflammatory markers.
✓ Nutrient levels.
✓ Cardiovascular history.
✓ Current medicines and supplements.
At Kiiran Patel Wellness Cube, laboratory values are not viewed as isolated numbers. We study the relationship between metabolism, inflammation, circulation, hormones, nutrients, gut health and mitochondrial function.
The Importance of G6PD
G6PD is an enzyme that helps red blood cells manage oxidative stress.
People with significant G6PD deficiency have reduced protection against certain oxidative challenges. This may increase the risk of red-blood-cell damage, making systemic ozone therapy unsuitable.
For this reason, G6PD testing may be required before treatment.
What Can You Expect?
Most people tolerate ozone therapy comfortably. Depending on the selected method, a session may take approximately 30–90 minutes, including preparation and observation.
Some individuals report changes in energy, clarity or general well-being. Others may notice gradual changes over several sessions, while some may experience no meaningful benefit.
Possible temporary effects may include:
✓ Tiredness.
✓ Headache.
✓ Light-headedness.
✓ Nausea.
✓ Mild abdominal fullness after rectal ozone.
✓ Bruising or irritation at an IV site.
✓ Temporary fluctuation in symptoms.
Symptoms should always be assessed properly and should not automatically be labelled as “detoxification” or a “healing reaction.
Who May Not Be Suitable?
Ozone therapy may need to be avoided or modified in individuals with:
✓ G6PD deficiency.
✓ Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
✓ Severe anaemia.
✓ Active bleeding.
✓ Certain clotting disorders.
✓ Acute medical instability.
✓ Uncontrolled thyroid conditions.
✓ Recent serious cardiovascular events.
✓ ther conditions identified during assessment.
Suitability also depends on current medicines, laboratory findings and the chosen treatment route. Prescribed medicines should never be stopped without the advice of the prescribing doctor.
How Many Sessions Are Required?
There is no universal ozone schedule.
The number and frequency of sessions depend on:
✓ The individual’s health concerns.
✓ Laboratory findings.
✓ The selected ozone method.
✓ Treatment goals.
✓ Tolerance and clinical response.
✓ Other therapies included in the programme.
Progress is reviewed periodically before the treatment plan is continued or modified.
Is Ozone Therapy Scientifically Proven?
Ozone therapy has been studied in areas including musculoskeletal pain, wound management, inflammatory conditions and selected circulatory applications.
Some research has reported encouraging findings. However, the quality of evidence varies, and treatment methods, concentrations and patient populations are not consistent across all studies. More rigorous research is needed for many of its proposed uses.
Ozone therapy should therefore be presented responsibly—as a complementary intervention with evolving evidence, not as a cure or a guaranteed solution.
It must not delay or replace prescribed medicines, emergency care, surgery, cancer treatment or specialist medical management.
The Kiiran Patel Wellness Cube Approach
We do not begin by asking.
“Which therapy should we give?”
We begin by asking:
“What is preventing this body from returning to balance?”
Is it insulin resistance?
Chronic inflammation?
Poor gut absorption?
Nutritional depletion?
Hormonal imbalance?
Reduced circulation?
Mitochondrial dysfunction?
Inadequate sleep and recovery?
Ozone therapy is considered within this complete biological picture.
A personalised programme may also include precision nutrition, gut support, correction of deficiencies, metabolic optimisation, hormonal assessment, targeted supplementation, IV nutrition and restorative therapies.
The objective is not to collect therapies. It is to select the right interventions for the right biological reasons.
Ozone Is the Signal. Your Biology Creates the Response.
Ozone therapy is best understood as a controlled biological conversation.
Ozone delivers a carefully measured signal.
The body interprets that signal.
Its antioxidant, metabolic, circulatory and immune systems may respond.
The quality of that response depends on the individual’s biology, nutritional status, medical condition and capacity to adapt.
This is why testing matters.
This is why dosage matters.
This is why supervision matters.
This is why personalisation matters.
Begin With a Personalised Assessment.
At Kiiran Patel Wellness Cube, our purpose is not simply to provide ozone therapy. It is to understand the person receiving it.
Because the best wellness programme is not the one with the greatest number of treatments.
It is the one that gives the right intervention to the right person at the right time.
