HEAL THROUGH HABITS

Health consistency in clean eating and discipline in regular exercise. Health is about balancing those things with your desires. It’s about nourishing your body and mind….Distinguish well between pleasure and happiness to be healthy Every negative thought weakens the connection between mind and body. When you consume any substance of abuse like packaged food addictive food including sugar, the nucleus accumbens receives a dopamine signal, from which you experience pleasure. And so you consume more. The problem is that with prolonged exposure, the signal attenuates, gets weaker. So you have to consume more to get the same effect -- tolerance. And if you pull back on the substance, you can have withdrawal symptoms like an addict.

Food addiction goes by many names, including emotional eating, disordered eating, and binge eating. Food addicts become dependent upon the “good” feelings that are obtained from consuming certain foods, which often perpetuates a continued need to eat, even when not hungry. These behaviors generate a vicious cycle.
The constancy in seeking pleasure leads to addiction whether they be things or behaviours. You cannot be addicted with too much of happiness.
The more pleasure you seek the more unhappy you get..... Short term pleasure eating a large bowl of icecream….question - Are you really happy after that ? Take a moment and remember the last time you felt like you had a purpose to live, your internal being was satisfied to be in the moment, and that moment could not be replaced by anything. Happiness is nothing else but a state of satisfaction and contentment.
There are many people who value materialistic goods as a source of happiness and indulge in buying and spending. However, if you notice that buying a dress or a phone may get pleasure, but this soon withers away in a short time span. Practice -
