The cephalic phase of digestion begins when we see, smell or even just think about food.Hormones and
enzymes control all of the central aspects of digestion and absorption are directly affected by our mindset
before and while we are eating. And the impact is significant. Pancreatic enzymes and Gut Peptides are
released just by thinking about lunch.
One of the most fundamental building blocks of nutritional metabolism is neither vitamin, mineral. It’s our relationship with food. It’s the sum total of our innermost thoughts and feelings about what we eat. Each of us thinks differently when we look at the same plate of food, no two people would see the same thing, or metabolize it the same way.
As a nutritionist….I am constantly hunting for nutrients and my mind breaks down the food. People on weight loss journey count calories if they train
themselves to do that.
Any guilt about food is considered stressors by the brain and has an immediate impact on your body. You could eat the healthiest meal on the planet, but if you’re thinking toxic thoughts the digestion of your food goes down and your fat storage metabolism can go up. Likewise, you could be eating a nutritionally challenged meal, but if your head and heart are in the right place, the nutritive power of your food will be increased.
