FRENQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How is a personalised meal plan different from a diet chart found online?
An online chart is usually based on a general calorie target or condition. A personalised plan considers your health history, investigations, food preferences, meal timings, cultural needs, activity, medications, symptoms and practical limitations. It is then adjusted according to your response.
Is nutritional counselling only for weight loss?
No. It may also support healthy weight gain, blood-sugar management, cardiovascular health, muscle preservation, digestive concerns, hormonal transitions, recovery and correction of identified nutritional gaps.
Will I have to stop eating rice, roti or other Indian foods?
Usually not. Carbohydrate-containing foods can often remain part of a balanced plan. The type, portion, preparation and foods eaten alongside them matter. Restrictions are used only when there is a clear clinical reason.
Do you provide vegetarian meal plans?
Yes. Plans can be designed for vegetarian, vegan, Jain or mixed diets. For vegetarian clients, special attention is given to protein quality and quantity, vitamin B12, iron, calcium, omega-3 fats and other nutrients where relevant.
Will my plan include portion sizes and calories?
When useful, the plan can include portions for one person and estimated calories. However, calorie counts are approximations and are not the only focus. Protein, fibre, micronutrients, food quality, hunger, metabolic response and sustainability are equally important.
How much protein do I need?
Protein needs depend on body size, age, health, physical activity, kidney and liver status and whether the goal is fat loss, muscle gain or recovery. We calculate an appropriate target rather than applying the same high-protein recommendation to everyone.
Can nutritional counselling help with insulin resistance or diabetes?
Yes. Individualised nutrition can support glucose control by adjusting carbohydrate quality, quantity and distribution; increasing suitable fibre and protein; and coordinating meals with medication and activity. It complements—not replaces—medical diabetes care. Medication may need review as glucose improves, so ongoing monitoring is important.
Can you create a plan for thyroid problems?
Yes, but food cannot replace prescribed thyroid hormone when it is medically required. We focus on overall nutritional adequacy, medication timing, relevant deficiencies and sustainable weight management. Excessive iodine or unproven “thyroid detoxes” are avoided.
Can you help with menopause-related weight or body-composition changes?
Yes. The plan may focus on sufficient protein, fibre, resistance-training support, sleep, metabolic health and realistic energy intake. Hormonal changes can influence body composition, but food quality, activity, muscle mass and total intake remain important.
Do you offer plans for digestive issues?
Yes, after understanding the symptoms and any medical diagnosis. The plan may adjust fibre type, meal size, fat content, fermentable carbohydrates or food texture. Persistent pain, bleeding, unexplained weight loss, anaemia, fever or major changes in bowel habits require medical evaluation.
Will I need supplements?
Food is the foundation. Supplements are recommended when there is an identified deficiency, increased requirement, dietary limitation or specific clinical indication.
How quickly will I see results?
Some people notice changes in energy, appetite or digestion within the first few weeks. Weight, body composition and laboratory markers generally require more time. The rate of progress depends on the goal, medical condition, starting point, medications and consistency.
What if I cannot follow part of the plan?
Tell us. A plan that looks perfect on paper but does not fit your life is not effective. During follow-up, we identify which meals, ingredients or timings were difficult and replace them with practical alternatives.
Can I eat outside or travel while following the plan?
Yes. We can provide strategies for restaurants, hotels, airports, social events and travel days. The goal is flexible decision-making—not dependence on a perfectly controlled kitchen.
Will I have to weigh every food item?
Not forever. Measuring portions can be useful initially to improve awareness, particularly for calorie-dense foods or precise medical goals. Over time, visual portions, plate structure and hunger cues can make the plan easier to maintain.
Do you recommend intermittent fasting?
Only when it suits the individual. It is not essential for fat loss or metabolic health and may be unsuitable during pregnancy, in people with an eating-disorder history, in some medical conditions or with certain medications. Meal timing should serve the person—not become another source of stress.
Can one family follow the same plan?
The household can often share the same basic meals, but portions and certain ingredients may need to differ according to age, health goals, activity and medical needs. We aim to minimise unnecessary separate cooking.
Is this a detox or crash-diet programme?
No. Short-term therapeutic modifications may occasionally be used for a clear clinical purpose, but the overall programme prioritises adequate nutrition and sustainable habits. Extreme calorie restriction, dehydration and unproven detox claims are not the foundation of our approach.
What should I bring to my first consultation?
Bring recent laboratory reports, a list of medications and supplements, relevant medical records and—if possible—a three-day record of what you usually eat and drink. Also note your typical schedule, food preferences, allergies, digestive concerns and main goals.
